Large format printing refers to any print output between 18" and 100" wide. It encompasses banners, posters, trade show displays, vehicle wraps, wall murals, window graphics, and signage. Modern large format printers use UV-curable, solvent, latex, or dye-sublimation inks depending on the application.
For viewing distances of 3+ feet, 150 DPI is acceptable. For close-up viewing, use 300 DPI. Billboards can be as low as 25-50 DPI.
Always convert files to CMYK before sending. RGB files will be converted and colors may shift.
Add bleed on all sides to prevent white edges after trimming.
Vector formats (AI, EPS, PDF) are preferred for graphics with text. Raster images should be high-resolution TIFF.
• Outline all fonts to prevent substitution issues
• Embed all images rather than linking
• Include a proof PDF at actual size with crop marks
Portable backdrops, banner stands, pop-up displays, and booth graphics.
Partial or full vehicle graphics for cars, trucks, vans, and fleet branding.
Custom wallpaper, environmental graphics, and branded interior spaces.
Perforated vinyl, frosted films, and promotional window displays.
Building signs, A-frames, yard signs, and directional signage.
Material selection depends on indoor vs outdoor use, durability requirements, and budget. Vinyl is the most versatile, fabric is great for trade shows, and rigid materials like aluminum or acrylic work best for permanent signage.
• For outdoor use, always specify UV-resistant lamination
• Fabric displays are wrinkle-resistant and easy to transport
• Ask about eco-friendly material options
